OASAS has generously funded “Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Considerations for EMS Providers” to be taught in a variety of locations around New York State. The course covers EMS response to incidents involving substance use disorder and/ or mental health and provides EMS providers with tools to use in their everyday practice. A portion of the course will discuss EMS provider mental health and wellness.
Classes are currently scheduled in NYC (7/12) Utica – Midstate EMS (8/11) and Binghamton (8/20) with more dates to follow. Midstate EMS will have a 30 attendee cap with waiting list, those that end up on a waiting list will have the opportunity to attend another date in the future at our Training Center.
